Back on Myspace

I found I kept going back to Myspace recently to hear music from bands I like whose new albums are not yet released or whose albums I can't find like Florence and the Machine, CSS, Noah and the Whale, Padded Cell, Tilly and the Wall, Marnie Herald, etc. And also to just have quick access to Jesse Malin songs that I don't have. Facebook's iLike app is good but bands still tend to their Myspace profiles like they're precious garden plots in fenced-in neighbourhood gardens. I was missing out. So I wanted back in. Oh dear god, what have I done? I think it'll be okay this time round though. I have no fear of starting any social networking circles with it. I'm just using it as a way to group music I like. Sadly, all past comments from friends are gone since you can't reinstate your old profile, but I think that's actually a good thing. I like how clean my page looks. And yes, I took a page from 14 year old girls around the world and changed my background colour again. But this time instead of hot pink or crown royal purple, it's a mature and understated blue-grey.
